Green Tea Ice Cream is a tasty way to enjoy the flavour of matcha tea, along with its positive health effects.
Ingredients
2 oz Macha
2 cups sugar
1 oz cornflour
4 cups Homogenized milk or cream
10 oz water
Method
Heat water and remove quickly from fire when boiling. Let the water rest for a few seconds.
In a strainer, pour the water throughthe tea and into a teapot. Rest for about 30 seconds then remove tea and set aside.
Boil milk. Blend sugar with cornflour and add to boiled milk. Simmer mixture for about 10 minutes stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Remove from heat, add brewed tea, stir and freeze in an airtight container for about an hour.
Remove from freezer, stir, then freeze again.
Repeat until it is the right consistency.
Makes 2lbs of ice cream
